After 16 years working in accounting in the San Diego business community, Matthew was drawn to fiduciary work having been introduced to the profession when he was named as Co-Trustee to his parents’ trust. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Brigham Young University’s Marriot School of Management in 2007. The BYU School of Accounting is consistently ranked in the top five accounting programs in the nation.

After college, Matthew worked at the big four accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. While there, Matthew completed the four parts of the certified public accountant exam on the first attempt and was licensed as a CPA shortly thereafter.

After working at PwC for two years, Matthew entered industry accounting and for 14 years worked in various roles as staff accountant, senior accountant, accounting manager and most recently regional controller for a charter bus company in California. Matthew oversaw various financial operations such as accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, and financial reporting for companies with revenue over $100 million.
