Mike Novak is a California Licensed Professional Fiduciary (Lic. No. 1233) with more than 25 years of experience in the wealth management and fiduciary industries.
In 2021 Mike joined ProFiduciary, Inc. where he serves as trustee, special trustee, executor, power of attorney and agent for individuals and families with a focus on accounts concentrated in real estate and/or family businesses.
Mike also manages and consults with closely held family businesses separate from his role as a licensed fiduciary. The market value of all assets where Mike serves as fiduciary, or as manager or consultant separate from his role as a licensed fiduciary, is approximately $1.2B.
Mike’s career began working with corporate fiduciaries where he focused on the management of real estate assets held in client accounts and then for 13 years he supervised teams of real estate asset managers along the West Coast.
The market values of those portfolios were more than $2B and the leasing, acquisition, disposition, and exchange transactions that he and his teams managed ranged from “mom and pop” neighborhood level to ~$100M deals with institutional investors.
Mike, and the teams he supervised, managed all types of real estate including residential, multi-family, mobile home/RV parks, industrial, commercial, retail, professional office, and agricultural/ranch. These assets were held in trusts, estates, agency accounts, and a variety of closely held entities such as LLCs, S and C corporations, LLPs, FLPs and partnerships.
Mike is a member of: Professional Fiduciaries Association of California, Probate Attorneys of San Diego (affiliate member), Estate Planning Council of San Diego, ProVisors, National Trust Closely Held Business Association, Institute of Real Estate Management, and, the National Trust Real Estate Association. He is also a member of Rotary Club #33, the 4th largest chapter in the world where his charitable committee activities focus on homeless issues in San Diego County.
Mike is a former four-year member of the Board of Directors for the San Diego Opera and was the chair of both its Audit Committee and Space Planning Committee. He is a current member of the Trust and Estates Council for Rady Children’s Hospital Foundation and serves on its Real Estate Task Force which promotes gifts of real estate to the foundation.
